Originally launched to help international students at U.S. universities file their nonresident tax returns, Sprintax has rapidly evolved in size and capability. Today, we are the trusted tax compliance software provider for over 700 institutions and corporations, including Ivy League schools and some of the most recognized universities across the United States.
Headquartered in New York, the Sprintax team regularly travels across the US and internationally, speaking at payroll and educational exchange conferences on nonresident taxation.

Terry Clune is the Founder and Chairman of Sprintax and CEO of CluneTech.
A graduate of Trinity College Dublin, Clune came up with the idea of a tax preparation company while working in Germany as a student.
Terry found himself paying about 50-60% tax on his income in Germany and so when he finished his construction job he started to figure out how to get that tax back. Back in Ireland, Clune processed tax refund applications for his friends and other students. The service proved popular and, after Clune graduated, he employed a staff of three and opened a small office in Dublin. The company experienced a rapid expansion and developed a range of new services for a diverse range of clients.

As CEO of Sprintax (part of CluneTech), Joanna Murphy spearheads the organization’s strategic vision and global expansion.
Winner of the 2024 Fintech Pioneer of the Year award, Joanna is dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation and empowering her team to deliver world-class tax technology and seamless service to a diverse international clientele.
Since assuming the role in 2019, Joanna has been the driving force behind the rapid scaling of the business. Under her leadership, the company has significantly broadened its suite of nonresident tax compliance solutions, earning the trust of thousands of institutional partners and individual clients worldwide.

Vice President
Enda is based in New York and has been assisting universities and nonresident international students and scholars with US tax withholding and Federal and State tax preparation for over ten years.
He has been awarded the IRS VITA Foreign National qualification and is currently studying to become an IRS Enrolled Agent.
Over the last three years, Enda has delivered more than 150 tax workshops all across the US. Sprintax has assisted over 300,000 students and scholars during the same time.

As Chief of Staff at Sprintax, Tom serves as the trusted partner and right hand of the CEO, ensuring the smooth execution of key strategic initiatives across Sprintax.
Tom Gahan also plays a key operational role in a fund that was the first of its kind established exclusively for the Irish Immigrant Investor Programme (IIP). The IDLF is a senior secured debt fund regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. The fund primarily supports Irish businesses in sectors like hospitality and healthcare.
Before joining Sprintax and IDLF, Tom was involved at a senior level with ConnectIreland, a globally recognized job creation initiative launched from the Global Irish Economic Forum in 2011. The initiative aimed to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) into Ireland by leveraging the global Irish diaspora. It has been credited with creating thousands of jobs and received accolades at the Financial Times Global FDI Awards

Encho Yordanov is the Business Operations Manager at Sprintax, with over 21 years of experience in managing complex operational frameworks within the tax services industry.
Prior to his current role, Encho served as the Product Owner for Sprintax for seven years, where he led strategic product development and enhancements to meet evolving regulatory and customer needs. His transition into operations was built on this foundation, allowing him to streamline workflows, optimize resource management, and align cross-team execution with business objectives.
An IRS Enrolled Agent (EA), Encho combines regulatory expertise with operational insight to drive efficiency, compliance, and high service standards across the organization. He is recognized for his hands-on leadership style and focus on continuous improvement and scalable growth.

Ciaran has a strong track record of building scalable platforms, driving innovation, and guiding organizations through growth and change. He is based in Ireland and holds degrees in Information Technology and Commercial Computing from Waterford Institute of Technology.

Laura Mc Hugh is a senior marketing and strategy leader with extensive experience working across fintech, tax technology, and international financial services. Laura has led the marketing function at Sprintax since 2020, driving go-to-market strategy, growth marketing and brand development. Laura holds a Master’s degree in Marketing and a Bachelor of Commerce & French, and an Executive MBA, where her research focused on data-driven organizations, AI adoption, innovation strategy, and operational transformation.

With two decades of experience in financial services and global withholding tax operations, Jim Dalton is a seasoned finance executive specializing in tax operations, digital transformation, and senior client engagement. In his role as Senior Vice President of Client Services of Sprintax Dividends, Jim supports the product development roadmap, and drives operational innovation to support continued international growth. A native of Waterford, Jim previously served as Senior Vice President at Northern Trust, here he oversaw tax operations and tax digital transformation on a global scale. Prior to this, he was Head of Tax at Bank of Ireland Securities Services.

Zdravka Zlateva has more than 20 years’ experience in US taxation, specializing in nonresident, international and cross-country taxation, including tax treaty eligibility and other agreements for avoidance of double taxation analysis. Zdravka Zlateva was granted Enrolled Agent credentials by the IRS and is currently a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents. Since 2010, together with a team of enrolled agents and tax specialists, Zdravka leads the tax compliance, research and development of Sprintax.
