Get your Certificate of Tax Residence — Canada

For your country of residence, your tax residency is certified by a standalone Certificate of Tax Residence (COTR) issued from your local tax office.

  1. Request a COTR for each year for which a DWT refund claim will be submitted.
  2. [Placeholder — add Canada-specific instructions: issuing authority (CRA), application method, and address if applicable.]

  3. Make sure your COTR covers the tax year(s) in question and states that it is issued for the purposes of the double taxation treaty between your country of residence and Norway.
  4. Upload a copy of the original COTR(s) to your Sprintax account.
